Introducing Primary Etudents to Engineering I want to offer opportunities for my first and second graders to explore the world of engineering as a way to spark interest and build on the curiosity children have innately. Providing the resources needed will engage students in problem solving, creativity, and teamwork that will transfer into all areas of their education. I am asking for 2 Idea Factory- Gears and Pulleys ( I currently have only 1), $27.99 each and 3 Idea Factory- Force and Motion, $27.95 each. Can be ordered at:

Tronix Team Volunteers Needed Tronix Team is looking for volunteers to work with middle and high school students creating fun hands-on science projects, such as our Lunchbox Boombox project. Tronix Team is an after-school program during the school year, but participates at libraries, parks, and community centers during the summer. One program will last for 12 hours, spread over multiple days. For projects, students make a circuit board, solder parts on their board, and install everything they build. Overall, our program ignites technological and engineering imagination among at-risk youth in the Twin Cities.
Activities are already planned and organized -- you just come be part of the action, help create projects, be a friend and a role model the students will look up to.
Learn skills and gain experience in mentoring, teaching, and technology.
We are also looking for volunteers who may wish to help prepare for these sessions in the workshop or instruct the actual sessions.
Responsibilities include:
• Making sure students are following their written directions and not skipping steps.
• Answering questions.
• Helping instructors set up and clean up.
• Assisting in gathering required forms.
• Building a positive relationship with students.
Please visit us at www.tronixteam.org
* No experience in electronics, science or engineering is needed. You must be willing to work with urban middle school youth and have a desire to be a positive role model for students. Minimum commitment of one to two hours a week.
