Looking for founding companies for statewide robotics competition
Looking for companies/organizations willing to donate money to start statewide robotics competition based on the VEX Robotics Competition. Robotics competition offers a multi-disciplined, focused challenge that brings students together from grades 6 - 12. The VEX Robotics Competition is a lower cost international competition that enables schools to be competitive with a much smaller outlay of money (compared to other robotics competitions). Teams compete more often since the competition field is smaller and easier to transport, which promotes continuous learning. Teams will constantly be improving the robots for the next local competition. $20,000 would enable 75 to 120 students from multiple schools to take part in a statewide competition that would result in teams going to the World Championships. A $1000 donation would easily be able to fund a team in your local school district. Approximately 80% of this investment would be reusable from year to year by the teams since robot parts would be reused for subsequent competitions. Please respond if you are interested in this. This is our initial start at establishing a competition in Minnesota. The VEX Robotics Competition has approximately 2200 teams competing from around the world, yet not one team in Minnesota. Together we can change this and start a competition in Minnesota!

MN High Tech Association ACE Leadership
Urban engineering/robotics high school teacher, and US FIRST robotics coach requesting scholarship funds to participate in MN High Tech Association ACE Leadership program. The purpose of the ACE Leadership Progam is to develop and connect our region's next generation technology companies and to assist them in preparing for the important roles they will play in making and keeping our region globally competitive. I feel that it is important to have high school educators on this panel to represent the future workforce that these companies will one day be hiring. I teach in a school district that represents a broad range students (i.e. socioeconomic, culture, gender, ability, interests) and believe that I could share valuable insights with the leaders of Minnesota's high tech companies. Tuition is too steep for district funding sources and scholarship assistance is requested. Total cost $4200 for tuition as a non-member company and substitute teacher coverage.
